About

About this website…One of the first posts that I did explained what this website is all about here. That is a good place to start. I am trying to tag the posts so that people will be able to explore by theme. The categories relate to the way in which I am writing up the research.

About me… I have a background in community development, social enterprise and local economic development.  Between 2002 and 2006 I worked at Keystone Development Trust in Thetford, Norfolk where I helped to build an organisation that was able to sustain itself beyond the lifetime of its grant funding. Before that I was a Senior Regeneration consultant in the private sector, working in Yorkshire and the the East Midlands. My first degree is in Politics and Communication Studies from the University of Leeds and I have a Masters in European Political Economy from the University of Sheffield.

If anyone wants to contact me privately about anything on this blog, rather than leaving a comment,  I can be emailed at noel.longhurst [at] liverpool.ac.uk

About the ”Twinned with Narnia’ photograph…The photo was taken in the summer of 2005 when someone customised one of the signs in Totnes. It has since entered local folklore. Thanks to Leo Trimming who provided the picture.
